The Portugal Golf Society is a Lisbon-based golf society for golfers living in Portugal. A society isn’t just the golf. It’s the people you meet, the stories you tell, the shots you wish you could forget, and the moments you look forward to.
Whether you’ve just moved to Portugal or you’ve played here for years, there’s a spot on the tee sheet and a seat at the clubhouse table for you. We play and socialise in English and Portuguese.

Joining a golf society in Portugal
What is the Portugal Golf Society?
The Portugal Golf Society (PGS) is a Lisbon-based golf society, established in 2026, for golfers living in or spending time in Portugal. We organise regular rounds, society days and season-long competitions, with the social side treated as seriously as the golf.
How do I join a golf society in Portugal?
Fill in the join form on this page with your name, email and a little about your golf. Someone from the Portugal Golf Society will get back to you with details of the next round and how to get involved.
Is there a golf society in Lisbon?
Yes. The Portugal Golf Society is based in Lisbon and plays on courses in and around the Lisbon area, with society days further afield in Portugal.
Do I need a handicap to join?
No particular handicap is required. Golfers of all abilities are welcome; tell us roughly where your game is and we will take it from there.
Is the society for expats or Portuguese golfers?
Both. Members include people who have just moved to Portugal and golfers who have played here for years. The society is bilingual, run in English and Portuguese, and is open to anyone who loves the game.
What kind of golf does the society play?
Regular society rounds scored in Stableford, competitions throughout the season and an Order of Merit, plus clubhouse socials and society days. Serious about golf, not too serious about ourselves.
